How AI Works
What is an AI operating system?
Not a chatbot or a dashboard: a way to connect business context with recurring work and human decisions.
You may already use AI through a chat box or an assistant inside another tool. I am interested in how it can help with the recurring work around those conversations.
When I say "AI operating system", I mean a way to connect the context of a business with its regular workflows. That might include meeting preparation, enquiry handling or content review. The useful starting point is a specific task, with clear sources and someone responsible for the decisions.
What this looks like in practice
These are examples of what a workflow could look like, rather than measured client results.
A scheduled briefing could bring together pipeline changes, client updates and tasks that need attention. You decide which sources it can read and what belongs in the briefing.
Before a client call, a workflow could gather relevant notes and documents into one place. You still need to check that the context is current and complete.
When an enquiry comes in through the website, it can be captured, qualified and routed, making it less likely that a follow-up disappears into a busy day.
How this differs from a chat assistant
A chat assistant can be part of this system. The questions I ask are about the wider workflow: what information can it access, what starts the work, who checks the output and what happens next?
Some routines can run on a schedule. Others should wait for a person to review the work and approve the next step. The right arrangement depends on the task and the consequences of getting it wrong.
What sits behind it
I build and run my own AI operating system. That practice shapes how I approach client work: start with the operational problem, agree the sources and permissions, and test a small workflow before extending it.
Why this matters for professional services
In a professional services firm, expertise and relationships sit alongside a lot of recurring administration. AI may help with parts of that work, but the value needs to be checked in the business itself.
I look for a manageable place to start, then check whether the result is useful, reliable and worth maintaining.
If you want to understand what this could look like for your business, get in touch. No pitch. Just a conversation about whether this makes sense for you.
